  3. Combine all other ingredients (except the water) together. Add water slowly and mix well until a dough forms (if too dry, add a little more wet, too wet, add a bit more flour). You may not need all of the water if you reach a good consistency first.
  4. Roll out on a lightly floured surface to 1/4″ thickness. Use a cookie cutter to cut into shapes.
  5. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper (for easy cleanup), and place the cookies on the sheet (they can be rather close together as they don’t grow much while cooking).
  6. Bake 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Transfer and let cool completely on a wire rack. Store the cookies in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

The Many Benefits of Pet Ownership for Senior Citizens

Dogs Keep senior citizens fit.

Dogs keep senior citizens moving and on the go.  Without a pet around, many senior citizens will find their daily lives becoming largely sedentary. In fact, more than half of people over the age of 65 don’t meet the suggested guidelines for physical activity as laid out by the Center for Disease Control. AARP, referenced an article published in The Journal of Physical Activity and Health that asserts that those with dogs will exercise an hour more than those without dogs.  That’s huge!
